B - Arrow productions is producing its 2nd annual Memorial Day Benefit Roping in Hermiston, Oregon. Last years benefit was Western Trails Therapeutic Riding Center of Pendleton, Oregon. The event last year raised $3,000.00 to help physically, mentally and emotionally challenged children achieve their dreams and goals. This years roping will benefit the Tripper Rice Scholarship Fund.
Tripper Rice, the son of Paul and Cindy Rice of Pendleton, Oregon was living in Midland, Texas when he was killed in a car accident this past May. He was 23. Tripper was a horse trainer, horse shoer and an avid roper. Tripper had a can-do attitude and was always there to lend a hand, whether stacking hay or working cattle. He liked to have fun first and worry about everything else later. He had a wonderful spirit and was a friend to everybody. Tripper was an Oregon High School Team Roping Champion and a member of the Wrangler All-Star Team. He also competed at the National High School Rodeo Finals all four years. Tripper won many awards at rodeos and team roping events through the years.
The Tripper Rice Scholarship Roping will be a roping showcasing both horsemanship and roping skills. Ropers will enter as teams, each team getting 10 steers. Ropers will rope five steers then switch ends and rope the remaining five. There will also be an open match roping highlighted with some of todays top PRCA ropers. The Tripper Rice Scholarship is for qualified members of the Intermountain Oregon High School Rodeo Team looking to further their education. We would greatly appreciate your support for this year’s Memorial Day Benefit Roping.
Thank You,
